Are Women More Important for Business Than Family?

Many progressives are keen to secure equality in the workplace, even to the point of legislating gender parity in the boardroom.

After all, or so the thinking goes, how can we expect to have a good society without equal representation of women with the men?

But what about the family?

Joseph Backholm was in Washington D.C. for the Women’s March. He asked marchers what their thoughts were on California passing a law requiring women to be represented on corporate boardrooms.

Afterwards, he asked if it’s the same for families to need both a mother and a father.

Suddenly, the concern for the reality and importance of gender faded in a trendy wind.
